Now that you're booked, we want to make sure that we do everything we can to help you prepare. So we've put together a short list of our most frequently asked questions to make sure every last detail is accounted for.
While we recommend following this list, please know even if you are the only thing you bring with you.. you are more than enough. Because at the end of the day, the best thing about your upcoming portrait session is you!!
What should I bring with me?
If you will be included in the photos, or if this is a pregnancy session, we recommend bringing both a black and a nude bra/panty set. These will go the best under the gowns, bodysuits, and fabrics we use for your session. You could also bring any special jewelry or accessories you'd like to wear, and a black and/or nude pair of high heels.
For our littlest clients, along with their diaper bag we recommend bringing a pacifier (even if they don't use one), any special lovey, blanket, outfit, or item that you may wish to include in pictures.
Should I do anything special before I come?
For our adult clients, we recommend getting plenty of sleep (or as much as possible if you've just brought baby home); eating a good breakfast; and drinking lots of water before you come. We do provide snacks and water bottles while you are with us, but also encourage bringing some with you. Especially, if you have any dietary restrictions.
For newborn and infant clients, we recommend that you bathe baby before the session if possible, then give them a full feeding and a diaper change before placing them in the car to come to our studio.
Should I do anything to prepare my nails/face/hair?
We suggest painting fingernails and/or toenails with a simple neutral color or a natural manicure; not doing any new facial routines that could cause burning and/or peeling skin; and please don't make any drastic changes to your hair. While these things may not always turn out negatively, we like to err on the side of caution to ensure images you will love for a lifetime. With that being said, you don't necessarily need to wear make up; however, for best results, we do request that you prepare your face and hair in whatever manner makes you feel like the best version of you. Afterall, we are capturing once in a lifetime moments for you. I can not stress this enough, it is our first priority to ensure you love those images every time you look at them.  That begins with helping you see the best version of you.
What should I put my spouse/kids in?
We suggest bringing one all white outfit for everyone, one all black, a pair of nice jeans for everyone, and a pair of dress slacks and dress shoes for the images you will be wearing one of our more elegant gowns. If you decide to put together a specific color scheme for your family, I recommend staying away from brighter red tones, peach, and certain shades of orange.
What if I have ideas for my session?
Please! We love to hear what you envision for your session. Favorite colors? Tell us! Old family heirlooms like vintage veils? Bring them, we will be so, so careful and incredibly honored to incorporate it respectfully. Our biggest suggestion here is to create a Pinterest board as well and share it with us. You can find our Pinterest account here

Can I request for our session to be in my home instead of coming to your studio?
Yes! As we all should be aware, sometimes giving birth doesn't go as planned. Please reach out to us as soon as you can if you are scheduled to come to the studio, but need to have an in home session instead. We will work diligently with you to prepare you for what an in-home session will be like. (We can also switch you from an in-home session to a studio session as well).
Can we still do posed newborn with an in-home session or is it a lifestyle session?
We will always attempt posed positions with a newborn session. Whether it is in-home or at our studio. We will bring a travel set and light to your home, and only need 10 ft by 10 ft of space (roughly) to set up. Usually, we request that you send us quick snapshots of your home areas with big windows, or larger areas that you'd prefer we shoot in.
If you have any other questions please don't hesitate to reach out. We would be more than happy to go over all of those details with you as well!

Kind Regards,
Megan
